Hi guys

Have started counting calories, but I’m unsure of how many calories I am burning during the sports I play

Will a normal Fitbit be able to calculate this if I wear it while I’m playing? Do I need the heart monitor also?

Any assistance would be great.

A tracker without a heart rate monitor will guess at what you burned based on population averages. The accuracy will depend on how average you and your energy expendature was and whether the fitbit recognises what you are doing. If it doesnt pick it up you would need to enter it manually.

With a fitbit WITH a heart rate monitor, it doesnt matter whether the fitbit knows exactly what you did or not - the calories burned is based on your heart rate so is much more likely to be accurate.

HR models monitor heart rate and adjust calculated burn accordingly for activities over 10 minutes or all if you manually start and stop active sessions on screen.

Check here for the models that have built in HR,

Welcome to fitbit.
