No Google Wallet icon in Fitbit App

I would like to move from using Fitbit Pay to using Google Pay and Fitbit/Google wants me to do this as well.  I have a Versa 3 and running the latest Fitbit App on my iphone 8, updated to the latest ios.  When I look at the screen which has "Voice Assistant", "Gallery", "Spotify", etc., it shows "Wallet" with an exclamation mark over it.  When I click on "Wallet", it tells me that I should update to Google Wallet and I see a "Update to Wallet" button on the bottom-right.  When I press that, it simply takes me to a web page which describes that I should:

Tap Today

Tap your profile picture -> your device image -> Google Wallet

Sounds simple, but this is simply taking me back to the same app screen where I started and there's on the "Wallet" icon, no "Google Wallet".  I know there should be a "Google Wallet" icon because my wife's app on her phone has this and she has configured it all just fine.

I previously had a credit card configured in "Wallet", but the last time I tried to use it, I found it wasn't there anymore, so any previously existing "Wallet" configuration causing a problem, doesn't seem likely.

I have restarted my watch multiple times, restarted my phone multiple times, removed the Fitbit app and reinstalled it multiple times, removed my watch from the app and re-added it multiple times.  Nothing seems to fix it.  I'm out of ideas.  Anyone else have any?
