Not accurate with running and or steps

I ran 5.36 kms (3.315miles) today however my fitbit versa is only showing 4.19kms and it only tracked for 1.67km.  This is happening everyday.  My fitbit does beep a lot when running and when I look it is back to showing 0000.

Have I got a faulty fitbit or how do I fix this problem.

@dizzy24 Can you provide more detail?  Are you on a treadmill or outside?  Are you using the Running or Treadmill exercise on your Fitbit?
