Not accurately counting floors or activity

My Versa Lite really does not function in many ways. Here is a example: 5 mile hike yesterday...registered 6000 steps and no floors. In fact I noticed it’s not registering floors at all as I am staying at a place where I’m going up and down stairs all day and they are not registering at all. My sister was with me on the hike. She has a different tracker. She registered about 12000 steps and 80 floors. My tracker does not recognize treadmill workouts, I have to start the activity manually. I called customer service. They were zero help. Any suggestions?

I can't explain the step counting issue but do know that the Versa lite does not track floors as they left out the necessary sensor, presumably as a cost saving measure.
