Not all Bank of America cards supported?

I upgraded to the Special Edition Versa because Bank of America is on the list of supported banks. However, when I try to set it up I get a “Oops” message saying my card won’t work with Fitbit Pay. Bank of America is definitely listed as one of the banks that will work with Fitbit Pay and my card is definitely issued by Bank of America so what’s going on? Did I just waste $30 on a feature I can’t use?

My bank uses two types of credit card but only one is supported on Fitbit pay, so probably your bank is the same. Lobby your bank - this is out of Fitbit's hands.

I did reach out to Bank of America and they said that hopefully it was just a matter of time until all their cards were supported. In other words, it was just taking time for the implementation to take place so possibly but the end of the year my card would work. However, this was speculation based on a similar situation with Samsung pay. This mollified me somewhat for the time being but still feel it is misleading to potential customers for Fitbit to not disclose these possible discrepancies in their lists of supported banks.

14 months later, I still have a Bank of America card that isn't supported.  And a Citi card that isn't supported.  Literally the only two cards that I use.

Technical support worked with me for a while trying to figure out why my Bank of America card wouldn’t work when it is supported but then I just quit hearing from them and it still isn’t resolved. It’s just aggravating to know I paid extra to have the Fitbit Pay and can’t use it.
