Not getting accurate readings during my open water swims

My Versa is not tracking the distance that I swim during my open water swims.  I specifically purchased this item for a casual watch/ tracker and the ability to swim with it.  The Versa shows the duration on my swim but not my distance.  It shows yards that are clearly not accurate.  26-minute ows /distance 246yd

Is there a setting I need to change so that I can be successful in tracking the distance of my swim?

Thank you for your question about how to track your distance after an open water swim. Your Fitbit Versa tries to identify lengths each time you swim, so you may still see an estimated number of lengths after your open water swim, however since your device has been designed to measure distance on a pool, you might not be able to get accurate readings. 

In order to obtain accurate distance readings of your swims, it is recommended setting the pool length on the Fitbit app. For more information, please visit this article.
