Not receiving text messages on my Versa Lite

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I’m not getting any text message notifications on my Versa Lite but yet I get a notification when my iPhone receives a call. I have an iPhone 12, which is on the most recent iOS update (14.5.1). My son also has the same version of watch and iPhone, yet he gets text message notifications on his watch. I have deleted and reinstalled the Fitbit App, deleted and recreated a new account and put my watch back to factory settings. I have checked all my settings, as per advice on other posts on here and still nothing. Am I doing something wrong or has my watch had it, even altho it’s only 2 years old.

If you deleted the Fitbit App you will need to redo both Notifications and App Notifications.

Also check your watch is not in sleep or Do not disturb mode.

Restart both devices.

Yeah redone both sets of notifications. Phone is showing as Show Preview - Always and Allow Notifications, Location is marked as Always, Bluetooth, Background App Refresh and Mobile Data are all ticked as being On. share System Notifications in the Bluetooth section is also ticked as On. On the Fitbit App Notifications Calls and Text Messages are marked as On. So everything seems to set correctly. I get call notifications and can Control Spotify from my watch, just no text messages. Starting to pull my hair out now. I went back to iPhone from Android because the same thing was happening and thot it was an Android thing but getting the feeling it’s more a Fitbit/watch thing.

Wow! looks like you have done everything, impressive!

At this stage probably best to contact Fitbit Support directly. They may be able to help you.

I know. Maybe give that a try tomorrow as a last resort. Just so annoying to know that I’ve tried everything and it’s still not working and it’s the one thing I want the watch to do. Going back to my Fitbit Blaze to see if the text message notifications come through on that. Cheers for your advice.

Hi there.

I was experiencing the same issues, but I now believe this last time was user error (for me).I feel silly now,  because I did forget one last step. Under notifications, in the app,  I forget to turn the button on, for always vibrate.

Double check your setting to confirm the button is set to on.

Hope this is helpful.

Hi. Were you able to confirm if the button is switched to "allow vibrations" in the Fitbit app? That's the last piece I missed. Right now text are coming thru to my Fitbit. Fingers crossed.

Hi JanetC30. Like Gina I don’t have that option on my Fitbit App. When you go into notifications it gives you the choice of Calls, Text Messages and Calendar Events which you  turn on or off, all are turned on (Green). Then there’s App Notifications and Quick Replies. Nothing to do with Vibration Setting. Only place I can adjust the Vibration is on the Versa Lite itself. Is it an iPhone 12 you have, cos I know the Fitbit App layout was different when I had an Android phone.

THANK YOU. I recently updated my phone and I have been fighting with this all day.

I have read several guides and instructions but I missed the "click your watch info" part and went for the notifications straight in the profile... which shows only push notifications to your phone and email notifications.

I love you Janet, I'm waiting for a corona vaccine related call and I have to keep my phone on silent at work, so this was super important to me.

I’ve give up!!!!! Had a live chat with Fitbit Support today. Done everything they told me and then got my son to send me a text message and guess what NOTHING. I’m I surprised…..probably not. Now have no hair left and one used Fitbit Versa Lite up for sale 😡

I fixed mine by going on my fitbit watch to the setting app. I think some how the notifications were turned off it looked like on there.  I went through each screen on watch to make sure all were turned on that I wanted and then I restarted my iPhone just to make sure and now it all works.    I hope this works for you.

That's what my issue was a well.  I had hoped my instructions would help Scotty75, but no luck.

Glad you are able to get it worked out though. 🙂

Hi. Any luck with your issue? If you have an iPhone, Gguhin was able to locate the setting I mentioned and his fitbit is now working correctly.

Hi JanetC30. I think so…..After my wee rant last night I messed about with it. I turned off the Background App Refresh and then went into Settings>Privacy>Bluetooth and there’s a bit in there that say Applications that have requested the ability to use Bluetooth will appear here and Fitbit was there. So turned it off and back on again. And low and behold this morning a couple of text messages have came thro on my watch, then some didn’t so turned the Bluetooth off and on again in Privacy and texts messages are coming thro on my watch. Fingers x’d that’s it sort but not holding my breath…lol.
