Not recording my walks correctly Versa 3

Sooo infuriating. I walk my dog twice a day and want to see how I’ve walked as in which zone I got into but it continually doesn’t record correctly. So yesterday I walked 37 minutes and the app recorded 13 minutes !! Why ?!

also in the morning I walked 39 minutes and it duplicated a walk of 13 minute (exact same data) then logged another walk of 15 minutes which is 28 but I walked 39!

absolutely driving me mad

Offhand I can think if a couple possibilities.  I expect you are relying on auto-recognition rather than using the Exercise App.  Both of these issues could be avoided if you would just use the on-wrist Exercise App to tell Fitbit you are starting and ending a walk.  This guarantees you will always get credited the full time as a walk .

1)  You might be making stops for your dog such that it is not recognized as one continuous walk, maybe broken into shorter walks, some maybe too short to be counted.

2) You might be holding leash with fitbit wrist so it is not swinging freely to tell that you are walking;  in this case it might help to switch wrists, either of leash or fitbit.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Thanks for replying.
I have Fitbit on my right wrist but leash always on left.
Longest we stop is for a poop but never more than a minute id say.
I will try on the watch starting and stopping the walk, thank you
