Notification of new message but nothing new shows up

I am having an issue recently where on the bottom of my app a red dot appears saying I have a new notification.  But when I click on it, nothing new shows up!  And I have old messages from friends over 40 days old not deleting. I though this was fixed.

Hi try this to get rid of the red dot:

1. Close Fitbit app and deinstall it.

2. Restart your phone

3. Reinstall Fitbit app

Maybe this will solve your problem.
