I've finished setting up and pairing my Versa 3 to my phone, but I have a message saying 'Notification service is not running. A phone restart is required...'. I've been through the forums and read several articles but I can't find a fix that matches my settings options. I'm all out of ideas, can somebody advise?
Yes, I have tried restarting the phone, turning Bluetooth on and off, and I'm always within Bluetooth range when I try.

Hi there, @Mscatfly. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Versa 3 before reaching out.
If you're getting this error message “Notification service is not running. A phone restart is required to re-enable notifications on your tracker”, please note that we’re aware of it and are working to identify a resolution as quickly as possible.
I'd like to provide the following steps that actually work for Huawei users, I know you have a Xiaomi but it's still and Android device, so I thing it would worth the try:
Note that you may see a message on your phone related to power consumption and apps scanning in the background. If you follow the steps in this message, the Fitbit app can’t run in the background and certain features may not work properly. Repeat the steps above to enable the Fitbit app to run in the background.
Hope that does the trick for you.

So what I did and seems to work. I have a Redmi note 10.
I put the optimization battery off ( To allow the app tu run and sync in background), I accepted all the authorizations for Fitbit.
And I locked the app open. Everything seems to work, I receive all my calls, SMS, and WhatsApp notifications, agenda and everything. Hope it will help.

Try this... In your Xiaomi phone, go to Settings -> Apps -> Permissions -> Autostart. Look for "Fitbit" and check Allow app to start automatically.

I had the same problem and tried for 2 days to figure it out. This is what worked for me. Open the Fitbit app. Fo to your account information. Tap the Versa 3 picture. Below the Sync, in the General settings, go to Notifications. Make sure Calls is turned on. Tap Text Messages and ensure it is turned on. Go back to Notifications and Tap Calendar Events and ensure it is turned on. Go back again to Notifications and ensure Email notifications is on and the App Notifications to check any other apps you want to get notifications for. I did this and then on the Notifications page, in the top right corner, the 3 dots, you can send a test call notification. This worked and I have been receiving notifications since.
