Notifications are not coming through my Versa 3

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My versa 3 is not receiving calls or any messages for the past 2 days. I phoned help desk, turned it on and off, as well as my phone, turned Bluetooth on and off, unpaired the dev8ce and added it again, reset the dev8ce, Uninstalled the fitbit app and reinstalled it and still not working. It syncs data only when I am onnthe app.

Can anyone help?

Hi @Kel135  - did you try going to Quick Settings on the watch [swipe face right] and ensuring the watch isn't in Sleep or Do not disturb mode by chance.

Also if you did reinstall the Fitbit App you will need to fully redo the Notifications and App notifications again.

Hi there, @Kindservant99. Thanks for stopping by in the Community Forums.

May I know the model of your mobile phone? Please make sure it meets the requirements listed here.

Despite meeting the above requirements, the following devices often exhibit compatibility issues that cause our products and services to not operate properly:

  • Huawei P8 Lite
  • Huawei P9 Lite
  • Xiaomi Mi 6
  • Huawei P20 Lite
  • See these additional instructions for help resolving any issues using the Fitbit app on this device.

If your phone is not on the list above and meets the requirements to operate properly with the Fitbit app, please try the steps below:

1. Remove the Versa 3 from your phone's Bluetooth settings and in the Fitbit app.
2. Restart your Versa 3.
3. Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use.
4. Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
5. Set up your Versa 3.

Hope that helps.

I tried the above steps and my Versa 3 is still not getting calls or texts. I have a Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra phone.

Hi @bkhammons70 -  make sure your watch is syncing. In the Fitbit App click profile photo, device photo and see what it says for last sync under Sync.

Lower down make sure the On-writs calls and Notifications [and App Notifications] are correctly setup.

You need to find where it says notifications... it took me days to find it
but it was in my phone settings I think as they had all been reset.
Permissions need to be on.

Have done that, it syncs fine on a regular basis and have the app notifications set up on fitbit. I have restarted the versa 3 many times along with restarting my phone. Uninstalled the app, restarted my phone, reinstalled the app, restarted my phone, even deleted Versa 3 from the app and set it up again like when you first set up any fitbit. Still no phone call or text notifications. I still get Messenger notifications but the calls and text stopped about 2 months ago.

@bkhammons70  -  note each time you reinstall the Fitbit App you will need to setup On-wrist calls, Notifications and App notifications.

How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device?

As long as it is syncing and the notifications appear on your phone [which made have also received an update] they should appear on your watch.

Check the configuration of your phone for calls and texts.

Checked that and all my notifications are allowed on both the apps on my phone and on fitbit app.

They show on my phone but the only one that shows on my watch is Facebook Messenger. I just tried what worked for my wife (same watch & phone) a master reset, set up watch and set up on wrist calls. Still does not show.

It seems I may have got it to work after again for the 10th time toggling off/on Versa 3 controls along with unpair/pair it on Bluetooth, then disabled all notifications for the second time and the enable them again. This almost had me to the point of switching smart/fitness watch brands.

I’ve never been able to get texts.  I can’t figure it out.  All the settings a clicked.  It suggests I leave the Fitbit app running in the background but aside from leaving the tab open I don’t know how to fix it

Hi @Lnewell  - if you get messages with the Fitbit App running in foreground then it's setup right.

You need to configure your telephone not to shutdown either Bluetooth or the Fitbit App to save battery - it is a phone dependent setting.

Also it may work if you go to the home screen on your phone, without ending the Fitbit App, when you want to do something else.

I’ll keep at it.  I may have to call.  Only calls come through.  I’m missing a step for sure but I’ll run through everything again just in case.  Thanks!

Finally got it.  It’s been almost a month but went through all my phone settings with a fine tooth comb and once I disconnected, reconnected and went through everything it stayed paired.  Then in text messages I had it set to not show a preview when locked.  Flicked that and it works.
