In reading all the posts regarding this firmware update and the major issues folks have been having I'm very reluctant in doing this update. It looks like it's not just the Versa family but the Ionic as well.
My Versa is working perfectly and I don't want it to end up being a paperweight.
Curious to see how many folks with out of warranty Versas have been successful with this update and what steps you took to ensure that the firmware updated without any issues. Besides the Versa and the phone being fully charged.

@SunsetRunner Welcome! It's great to see you around! Sorry for the delay in my reply.
Let me help you with your Versa update. What I can suggest is that you restart your Versa before the update and make sure it is fully charged. After this go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there. This should clear the link between your phone and your Versa. Finally restart your phone and sync it before attempting the update.
Let me know how it goes.

Thank you for your response but after seeing all the posts both on the thread for the firmware and individual posts regarding the issues with this firmware I am opting out of doing this update until the issues are fixed or a new bug free firmware is issued.
After tweeting with Fitbit.com via Twitter and voicing my concerns with this firmware update, they advised that they are aware of the issues due to the reports received but couldn't provide and ETA as to when this be resolved.
The enhancements are nice but not nice enough for me to risk my Versa becoming unresponsive and useless or having to deal with the major battery drain being experienced as well as other issues being reported.
