Overestimating calories and steps

Just got my versa today and was very excited.  Set it up this evening. 5 hours later I checked the steps and calories: 1359 steps, 1330 calories.  It was family night.  We ate dinner then watched a movie.  I couldn’t have moved less if I tried.  300 steps recorded going to bathroom, 500 steps tidying kitchen after dinner.  This is waaay worse than the bad reviews stated.

double checked my weight, height etc.,  all correct.  Heart rate in the 60s. Non dominant hand.

Is it already time to call it a lemon and return it, or is there something I can try?

@MandyLou3 if you think that versa is counting too many steps (1300 within 5 hours is not many really unless you were in the bed), you can make the tracker less sensitive by changing the Wrist Placement setting in the Fitbit Mobile app to Dominant. Regarding calories, it seems fine to me. Those are total calories which means active calories plus your BMR. BMR is estimated based on your gender, age, weight etc. Versa estimated calories from your BMR for the whole day (not just 5 hours) and added your active calories (from steps and movement) for the 5 hours you moved. That's how you totaled 1300.

ETA: As a side note. Versa is a wrist activity tracker. It tracks various types of activities, not all of them are step based. For example if I'm lifting weights there's a calorie expenditure and it would be nice to get some credit for that. Simply you may get it in form of steps as well.
