Hi everyone
i have been wearing my Fitbit Versa for a month now. The low amount of nickel in the buckle has caused me to have an allergic reaction. Therefor i am looking to replace the band with something that is nickelfree!
I noticed fitbit is now selling new PH5 bands which look really nice! I wonder if the buckle of these new bands also contain nickel or not? I can’t find the answer on fitbit’s product description.
I have to say I’m disappointed fitbit does not mention clearly that there is nickel in their products. Would not have invested in this smartwatch if I knew I might have an allergic reaction to it. They should atleast be making something that is advertised as nickelfree, since this allergy is wildly common and a watch os something you wear daily.
Help would be much appreciated!

@Irisvds It takes a little looking on the Store page, but the specs say that the PH 5 band has an aluminum buckle. The specs for the classic band say that the buckle is aluminum, too. I suspect that if you break out with the classic band, you will break out with the PH 5 band, too.

From the Versa manual:
"The housing and buckle on Versa are made of anodized aluminum. While anodized
aluminum can contain traces of nickel, which can cause an allergic reaction in
someone with nickel sensitivity, the amount of nickel in all Fitbit products meets the
European Union's stringent Nickel Directive."
Amazon has a wide variety of third-party bands available, but you would be on your own trying to verify if any are totally nickel-free.

My standard approach for nickel allergy is to coat the back of the offending item with clear nail polish. This might help with your buckle issue.

I had a Fitbit Versa for Christmas and have been wearing it day/night for 3 weeks. I developed a rash which has turned to blisters. The rash has spread from my hand and is now all over my body.
My Gp recognised the rash immediately and said am I wearing anything containing nickel!
the only thing I was wearing was my Fitbit!!
I am absolutely shocked that the Fitbit could do this to my body. Obviously I have stopped wearing it but the rash and blister could take up to 4 weeks to disappear!

Be sure to add nickel allergy to your medical records and carry a medical ID alerting to nickel allergy. Many medical devices, implants, joint prosthetics and stents contain nickel. I found this out the hard way...
