Pay - incomplete payment by versa

After trying fitbit pay for the first time using a approved bank and registered card I was about to offer the card when I remembered the watch and offered this to the card reader,  the guy operating the card reader said they do not accept watch payments and insisted on my card which he inserted and payment was made on,  but my watch is stuck on the pin number screen and while the time shows swipe phone or press any of the 3 buttons and the pin number screen comes up and I cannot remove this.  I have done a soft reboot and a hard reboot even and I am still stuck with the pin number screen.   1)How can I reset this other than entering the pin number and potentially confirming a 2nd sell. 

2) why if I enter the pin number incorrectly 100 times does it keep allowing someone to enter a new pin number,  after all there's only 9999 options and at 3 secs a go that's only 8 hours work and much less 50% of the time as starting at 0001 you would find most long before getting to 9999.

With no one else having any advice and the watch not syncing I decided to reinstall the app again to get it to sync and the problem went away and its back to normal.

But there's a serious security problem if I am allowed to try every single number from 0001 to 9999 and I never get stopped,  so the odds are I stand a 50% chance of finding a pin number in under 4 hours of trying (0001 to 5000).  Seriously mods and Fitbit this is a massive security issue and must be prioritised immediately please or you put everyone who has linked a card at risk of their bank accounts being emptied because of a flaw in Fitbit security.
