Like everything else, but requiring location to be on for no good reason that decreases phone life is poor requirement for functionality. I can see related functionality being disabled, but message and ability to sync is nonsense Going to try for another week or two then get my money back. My phone goes dead way less than one day with location on. vs longer than day with it on.

@jma.engineering Your message is really difficult to read/make sense off, but lets give it a try:
"but requiring location to be on for no good reason that decreases phone life is poor requirement for functionality. " --- you mean when you install the mobile app? Yep, it is required in newer Android versions (not sure how it is for iOS) for bluetooth to work with your tracker that you allow location data, even though the app never uses it. It absolutely has no impact on the phone's battery life provided that your Versa is properly paired. Or do you mean connected GPS?: "My phone goes dead way less than one day with location on. vs longer than day with it on." ---- something is wrong in this sentence, I assume the last on must be off. It sounds like you have the GPS on your phone on (all day)? Yeah that eats phone battery life, but you don't need that. Only if you really want it, f.e., when walking/running/hiking and you feed your phones GPS data to your Versa via 'connected GPS'.
Good luck!

Hi
If location is not on, my Fitbit app will not sync with watch.
It appears that if I do not leave location turned on for my pho e (which
drain battery) I don't get sync and messages from ph to versa. Am I getting
this wrong ?
The value of this watch is smart watch and fitness tracker.
If location must be on to communicate between devices battery dies too
quick.
Can I get functioning with out location turned on?

@jma.engineering "Am I getting this wrong ?" --- GPS will drain your phone, that's correct. Location services can also be based on Wifi. I use Wifi and it doesn't use any power. I have GPS turned off.You can do this via your mobile device location settings, among others, and select low power.
"if I do not leave location turned on for my phone I don't get sync and messages from ph to versa" -- I have checked, and turned of location services, and it still syncs just fine. Does it not sync AT ALL (like for days), or just so now and then?
