Pin inside Fitbit Versa band broke off

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

The pin head inside my brand new Fitbit Versa broke off and I have tried everything to try to remove it.  I tried tweezers, small scissors and a paperclip.  Nothing works!

Any suggestions?

Fitbit support will not help because I did not purchase the band through Fitbit.

Hey @bambilover, let me give you a warm welcome to the Community! I'm sorry to hear that the pin on the back of your Versa has broken and on the other side, I appreciate the time that you have taken to contact our Support for further help. However, as they mentioned, since this is a third party wristband, there is nothing much they can do to help you out. There is nothing wrong with buying a third party accessory, you just have to keep in mind that they are not covered by Fitbit warranty.

If you have further questions or comments, let me know!

I popped mine off with a butter knife. Probably not the best way to do it but it worked.

I had the same thing happen to me. What I did was roll the pin until I could see the hole where the latch used to be. Then I inserted the tip of a lead pencil (that's just what I had on hand, but you could use a pin or whatever fits) into the hole and pulled the pencil to the side, as if I was operating the pin with the original latch. The pin popped out easily. Hope that helps!

Thanks so much for the tip.  I had to use tweezers to get the pin to roll to the spot where the pin piece broke off and then was able to stick a straight pin in the hole and press it down to release the spring.  I got it off finally!!  Yeah!!  I did have extra band pins, so just used one to replace the broken one and I'm back in business! 😃

Yes, once I got the pin out, I was able to use a new pin to place my band back on.

Same problem. Pin broke off on the FACTORY fitbit versa band and I can't get it off no matter what I try. Suggestions? Butterknife, Pin, and Pencil does not work. 😐

Best Answer

If it’s a factory band you can get help from Fitbit - not sure what that process looks like. Butter knife worked like a charm with my not factory band.

I'm having a similar issue. The pin opposite the side with the spring broke off in the frame of the watch. It looks to be flush and can't seem to get it out. It's FitBit brand special edition grey band. 😕

If it’s a Fitbit brand wristband then you can get support from Fitbit.
