Please make the Motorola X4 compatible

I recently bought the versa, mostly to track my runs without having to fish my phone out from my pouch. After 2 weeks of getting really inaccurate tracking I talked with support only to learn my phone isn't compatible! Please fix! I really love my versa but really need this to work!

Hey @candidamarie, let me give you a warm welcome to the Community! Robot Happy This phone model, the Motorola X4 hasn't been released as a compatible device yet, however you may setup and sync your Versa with it but some functions are not guaranteed to work as expected, as you may have experienced.

Don't you worry, our team is always working in order to add more devices to this list so more users can take advantage of all the Fitbit devices products. In the meantime, you can try to fix these GPS inaccuracies by following the instructions in this help article: Why isn't GPS working on my Fitbit device. In addition, you can also restart your Versa and try it out for a few days.

Let me know how it goes!

I also just got a Moto 4x in order to use Project Fi, and while it shows as trying to sync, I'm not actually getting updated data, specifically I need my calories burned and sleep statistics for my doctors.

I have a Windows 10 PC, and I cannot get the Fitbit app from the Windows Store -- I've tried all the troubleshooting that I've found online, as well as trying to use the old Fitbit Connect application. Unfortunately, because I'm trying to sync over bluetooth or wifi, the Fitbit Connect application won't work.

I'm at a loss for how to get my data for my doctors, and I'm really frustrated by this.

Is there any sort of status for currently incompatible devices that are being worked on?

I have the same issue, Versa and Moto x4. Sync happens only when I manually trigger it, despite app settings set to continuous connectivity. Of course, this also means that no smartwatch functions are available since those rely on unattended device communication. Furthermore, even manual sync is unreliable - to get syncs to work I tend to have to restart Bluetooth, and/or unpair and re-pair the Versa, and/or restart the Versa and/or phone, and in an extreme case couldn't get anything to work until I factory reset the Versa and set it up from scratch again (the sync difficulties re-emerged about a day after that reset.)

Is there a timeline for compatibility with the Moto x4? Otherwise I may have to consider switching either phone or fitness tracker brand.

This is the solution to have your Moto x4 with your Fitbit. I have an Ionic but I got these instructions from someone with a Versa.  I just purchased my Moto x4 yesterday.  It not only syncs, I'm getting all notifications AND the phone still syncs with other things with no problem .

  • Shutdown the Fitbit app if it is running
  • Turn on developer mode on your Moto x4
  • To turn on developer mode go to settings - system - about phone: then tap on build number 7 times.
  • Go back to the system page and you should now see an option that says { } Developer options
  • Go to Developer options page and change the following option: Bluetooth AVRCP Version
  • The default option is set to AVRCP 1.4 CHANGE TO: AVRCP 1.6
  • Go to Bluetooth settings and tell your phone to forget the Fitbit
  • Power down your phone
  • Reboot your Fitbit (hold down both the left button and the bottom right button until you see the startup fitbit logo)
  • Power up your phone (wait for it to completely start up - make sure you have a WiFi connection and Bluetooth is running)
  • Start the Fitbit app, it should automatically establish a new Bluetooth connection and sync.

This fix worked great for my Fitbit Surge. It's been over a week and I haven't had any problems syncing with my Moto X4.

Awesome. I was really upset about this. I spent forever picking out new phones and love the Moto x4 but since my Moto x pure worked fine, I never thought for a second to worry about the compatibility of the phone and the Fitbit. I just figured Android was Android. Im so glad this is working.  My husband is having an issue with his bluetooth headset and the Moto x4 but it's an older headset so we are thinking it has nothing to do with changing this and more to do with the phone being the latest version of bluetooth and the headset being an older version.   My car stereo/hands feee phone links just fine. Let me know if you find anything else that isn't syncing over Bluetooth since you made this change. 😀

I've been having the same problem with the Zip tracker and after following the instructions, it only works for about 30 minutes. It's driving me crazy.
