Pushing an OS fix/update to our devices?

Just wondering if it is possible for Fitbit to push out OS updates to all these defective devices. As if they even have the programming capability to fix these defects. Or is the defect related to poor firmware engineering? Is the Fitbit brand nothing more than a sales brand, reselling Korean (or Chinese) originated products and marketed as a leading-edge prestige brand? Do they employ in-house firmware and software engineers? What percentage of their gross revenue is dedicated to Quality Assurance and Usability studies and remedies? Is the brand's entire support budget represented by the moderators in these forums repeating platitudes and pasting in solutions from the easily available FAQ and documentation?

Inquiring minds deserve to know.

From what I'm seeing in these forums, my impression of the Fitbit brand has gone from good to less than deplorable.

Just scan the topics to begin to get a feel for the numerous reports of Fitbit devices failing after extremely short periods of use.

From just locking up, to being unable to reset per documented or support instructions, device freezing on the logo at startup, and on and on. In my own case, after roughly two hours of use from unpackaging and pairing with the app, any touch to the screen, swipe in any direction, tap and hold, etc. etc. did nothing but bring up some little calculator app. Numerous reset attempts per the ~90-page documentation I downloaded; searching online forums and YouTube clips for over two hours trying every remedy found. Contacted phone support finally, who had me walk through the very same reset and debug processes I had just completed for another hour or more.

Ultimately get an RMA and return shipping label, only to track that return and find it spinning on a carousel all week in a Denver Distribution Center. Somewhat understandably, Fitbit won't ship the replacement for this brand-new device until they get the returned defective product in hand yet they are unable to break the shipment loose from a USPS-FedEx circle jerk or provide any response to inquiries about replacement status.

Yup, just scan the topics to see just how broken Fitbit's product quality, QA and support systems are.

All these defective devices? What are you looking to have fixed? Are you really asking a question here about an issue with your device because if you are I don't see it. Pontificating is not going to get you anywhere.
