Quick Replying to Messages from Google Hangouts Fitbit Versa creates 8 replies

Hello:

New Fitbit Versa owner which is paired to a Google Pixel 3.  When I receive a Hangouts message, the message gets pushed to my Versa and it works great.  When I attempt a quick reply from the Versa and send, the exact same reply is sent 8 times.

Example:  When I quick reply to a message with a reply of "No", it sends "No" 8 times.  It's always 8 replies. 

Does anyone know why this is?  I never had this issue with my old Pebble 2.

@jdholman Does it happen with any other messaging app or only hangouts? Do you have any other apps installed that could conflict here? Perhaps you could try disabling and enabling again the notifications for hangouts in the fitbit mobile app with a sync in between. Finally, try rebooting Versa several times by pressing and holding the left and bottom right button until fitbit logo flashes.
