Quick Replying to Messages from Google Hangouts from my Fitbit Versa

I want to be able to reply to messages from my Fitbit Versa. I was wondering if it is possible to reply to Google Hangout messages. I already have edited the default quick replies and I also have added the apps I want to receive notifications from. Whenever the messages from Google Hangouts come in, it only gives me the option to clear them. It would be great if I could reply with the quick replies, but I have not had any luck so far.

@adrmcm Welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here! This depends on the app you are using allowing this option and it will vary from app to app. Try checking your Hangouts settings to see if this can be done. Also have you tried other apps besides Hangouts? Do you get the QuickReply option with them? Make sure you also allow the Fitbit and Hagnout apps the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit/Hangout > permissions).

I look forward to your reply!

Hi Alvaro,

I do have other apps like Gmail and Calendar enabled, but I know from articles that you can't quick reply on either. I cannot find a permission area in the Google Hangouts app, but in the Fitbit app, they do show as connected. Also, I still do receive notifications from Google Hangouts, but I can't answer them, and my only option is to clear them.

Hope this helped,

@adrmcm thank you for the update. Try checking the app permissions by going to settings > apps > hangouts there you will find the permissions page. Also try the following:

Settings (general phone settings) >App>Messages>Notifications>

Allow Notifications>ON
On Lock Screen>Show Content

Also,
Open Messages>Tap 3 dots at top>Settings>Notifications>

Popup Display > ON
Preview Message > ON

Keep me posted!
