I've seen some older posts about the temperamental nature of the weather app on the Versa. Just wondering if it is supposed to be fixed or if there will be changes in the next update.
In my case, the way I get it to work is to add/remove a city and then sync.
My setup is Versa syncing to a Lumia 950 (Windows 10 mobile). Everything seems to work well except for the weather. I added two locations (the maximum allowed). But the weather ends up disappearing, regardless of syncing.
When I remove the additional locations, it doesn't sync with the "current location". I have to have at least one additional location to get the current location (and the added one). However, if I don't do anything with the app then, after charging and syncing, the weather app stops working. No weather.
I've played around with it, first removing two locations and adding them back. That gets it going again till the next time.
Just tonight I found it's sufficient to remove one location. This will be handy, because the next time it stops working, I'm expecting that all I'll have to do is add that location back again. (Fingers crossed.)
The time after that, I'll remove one of the locations. Repeat - add - remove.
Has anyone else found the weather app quirky? If so, what are you syncing the Versa with, and have you found a workaround?

EDIT: Scratch all this - the factory restart (see below) wasn't a permanent fix. The weather is still not syncing a day later.
A postscript:
The weather app settings icon disappeared yesterday. I couldn't do anything. I couldn't uninstall weather or change the settings - not on the phone app or on the PC app.
I ended up resetting the Versa to its factory settings this morning. That still didn't fix it, so I deleted the app from my phone and from the laptop and reinstalled everything. (Along the way I had one question answered. With everything stored on the cloud (presumably it's cloud storage), I didn't lose any data.)
All is good again, and the weather app is working just with the default location. I haven't tried to add any other locations yet.
I have a feeling I might not have needed to reset the Versa to its factory settings. It might have been enough to uninstall and reinstall the apps. I'll probably never know, unless it plays up again.
On the plus side, with the reset I discovered some of the music playlists had items out of order. Reinstalling them all took time (because of the factory reset), but it's good to hear Beethoven's symphonies in the correct order 🙂

Well, it wasn't sufficient to just add the removed location back again. It wouldn't take. That is, it didn't search properly for the removed (second) location.
What I had to do was remove the first location, then close the app pages, then open them again and add back the first location to get the weather app to work again.
That's all a bit much effort. The weather app is useful, and pretty, but I doubt I'll be fiddling around to that extent too often.
I'll be pleased when the bug is fixed.
