I must do this a dozen or so times in any given day (hold left button and press right bottom button for 10-12 seconds). It works every time, just a pesky nuisance.  The other thing is the "auto-on" feature for the watchface is not always responsive, when i raise my arm or tap the screen.  Both of these quirky nuisances still don't deter from the fact that I love this watch. A positive is the "sleep" data seems very accurate, maybe even better than those with Apple watches! If looking for a cool watchface, I love the "Modern Analogue" one! Very industrial and new wave look to it. Overall, the Versa is a quality watch with some minor hiccups.

As for the display not always coming on, hold in the left button a few seconds. Look for 'Screen Wake' at the top.  Tapping toggles it on or off.  You want it on.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
