Purchased a versa lite for my daughter and the screen won’t clear or sync. Has a red x on the screen. Restarted and it’s still there.

I have followed the instructions to do a factory reset, as recommended below and my watch is still showing the red x 

 

please help !

This does not reset the Fitbit. Pressing and holding he back button does not bring up the logo. Red X stays on then fades out and nothing else comes up.

I don't think their recommendations work...at least I haven't heard of a good outcome. If you have had the fit bit for less than a year...then ask for a replacement. That is what I had to do. My replacement works fine.

I’m having so much trouble syncing mine I have turn off Bluetooth and then pair it then it said updated 100% and then my Fitbit still stays stuck o a big red x so frustrating

Hi Sorry to here of your issue. If you have done all their recommended
fixes, then you should ask for a replacement, if you had the Fitbit for
less than a year.

How do I find out if it’s been leas than a year I don’t have the receipt
and I can’t recal when I got it .

Hello...they will ask for a receipt. I had my receipt when I had to get
mine replaced. Sorry about that.

Hi to all that are experiencing this problem with the Red X and "Data Can't Be Cleared" message.
I had to uninstall Fitbit from my phone, then go thru the Play Store on my Android and set it up again.
But it worked seamlessly !
Try that, I think it will work for you.

It didn’t work for me , I have uninstalled the app also turned off
Bluetooth and restart my phone and then downloaded the app again also turn
off all other Bluetooth devices and nothing seems to be working I am so
frustrated .

I factory reset mine twice and it just goes back to the screen with the red X

Hold the back button for about 8 seconds. 
——- keep holding after  that  or release 

  1. When the Fitbit logo disappears:
    1. Release the button briefly (for less than 2 seconds). 
    2. Hold the button again until they feel a second, longer vibration, which indicates you initiated the factory reset.

My Fitbit doesn’t have a back button it has a side button .

I too have tried this on my daughter's Versa multiple times and the red X keeps on coming back.  I am frustrated and have tried all of the recommendations on this site.  This is such a disappointing product.

Tried to follow these steps and they did not work for me. The screen goes straight back to data not cleared sync and try again.

Hello!  My versa 2 only has one button and i too have the red X of death.  I have tried all the suggestions and nothing is working.

Can you please help me.  I feel lost with out my versa.

I uninstalled my Fitbit info from my phone and reinstalled it. It worked fine.
If you monitor your Fitbit on a computer or laptop, iPad, etc., you will need to do the above on those devices.

Mine is dead to me since I’ve had the life ending Red X for over 8 months! Big waste of money for me!
