After a long long conversation with the Fitbit Team I got 50% off a Versa2. Bottom line is the Versa range isn't waterproof no matter what the advertising says - I'm not taking my new one anywhere near water!

That’s so shady.  We paid $200+ for something we’re supposed to be able to swim with, only to have it stop working and the solution? 50% off for a new one.    So now you’re out $300+ and you can’t even use it for swimming because you’re afraid of water damage again. What a scam.  I’m done with Fitbit and deterring anyone else from buying Fitbit too.

I experienced similar issue and the red light stays on. Now my fitbit is flickering and malfunctioning. It started two days ago when I went swimming with it. Funny though, I've been using fitbit for years and have taken my Versa with me to swim all the time and there's no issue whatsoever until two days ago.

This is such an unpleasant experience.

Yes, this happened to me as well, update app or delete app from phone and
initiate the app.

I'm having the same exact issue. I tried everything including a factory. I called support, same thing, out of warranty. I will likely be switching to the new Galaxy watch after this experience.

I read through this post because same thing happened to me. The moderator posts went silent.  This is a legit defect. This is my 3rd Fitbit smartwatch that has died just out of the warranty period. Does Fitbit take any responsibility? I was also offered a discount one time and it was during one of your regularly scheduled sales.

Thank you for the recommendation.

Yeap.  I have same problem.  They told me battery appears to be fine.  It’s draining from 100% to dead in 8-9 hrs.  This started after the heart monitor stopped. I told two reps this neither mentioned it’s a known problem. Fitbit sucks. Buy Garmin, Samsung or Apple they last fir years.

First time in here

My Versa 2 stopped working after a shower (I usually take off but this once I kept on)

Red light stays on permanent and no steps, HR functioning.

Looks like I have a watch now.

I’ve updated, turned in and off, turned HR on and off. No change.

Can you just tell me if I need to bun it or is it fixable?

thanks

HiyaIn my experience it's not fixable but it is definitely worth persevering with fitbit support. If it's within warranty they will replace it, if it isn't then they may offer you 50% off another. In my case they offered me 50% off a Versa2 but then the Versa 3 was launched the following week 🙄. Good luck Sent from my Galaxy

Same crap happened to me.

This is my second fitbit watch. The first one died a few months in warranty. Didn't do anything out of the ordinary and I hardly used it so was pretty much brand new. Anyway got a replacement then after I went for a swim the screen died.

Called customer services and they told me to factory reset which I had already done before calling. Versa has now died completely with the red light at back constantly on.

Fitbit offered me 35% off a new watch.

No thank you very much. How can 2 watches die on me so quick with hardly any use. Will not be wasting my money on one of these again.

I'll also be getting a Samsung one as never had any faults with Samsung products.
