Red spot on wrist where the light are - Versa 3.

Like many other users, I have developed a red spot on my wrist where the lights are.... It is too tight, it does not remain wet and I take it off occasionally. I decided to stop using the watch and will return it. I think it is not safe on the skin. I have contacted the support team and I am currently waiting on what they have to say about it. Very disappointed with the first Fitbit experience.

Their are two types of lights on the tracker.

Both visible and infrared. The visible should not cause any. Issues. The infrared is very low but for those that can't be in sunlight this would be of concern. Other problems is that some medication and skin ointments can also cause sensitivity to infrared light.

I agree with you, there should not be any issues, yet here we are: me and many more users. There are plenty of related posts/complaints in this community. Furthermore, I have never suffered from any type of photosensitivity. I am from a pretty tropical area where the sun always shines. So, according to your poor reasoning, I should have had many skin problems by now. Instead of blaming it on poor care of the device (mentioned by other "community legends"), medications that I don't use or body lotions (still laughing about this one); Fitbit should own the problem and take a serious step in assessing an issue with a clear potential of risk to users' health. I intend not to lose my time arguing about this, I have simply documented the issue with a dermatologist and will return the watch.
