It is ridiculous that I cannot send my fitbit in for repairs in South Africa, physically their is nothing wrong with the device not even a scratch the only problem is the screen has gone further everything works

Hi I have had the exact thing happen to mine. My fitbit was bought in Feb 2020 and now I have to ship it to the netherlands at my own cost for them to replace.? Why do the stores in South Africa stock items that they do not ship back to the netherlands for a replacement unit? What the hell?

Was also hoping a place like wefix would have a service to replace the LCD, but seems they only do samsung and apple.
Then again, maybe with the massive amounts of dud charge 3s, they should get into fixing them to.
Keen to try replace the screen myself, but means I need to find the right adhesive and get a heat gun, which for just one repair, makes the repair a bit costly.

Wish this was pointed out before i bought this. Definately never buying another one of these again. Becomes a throw away item after the warranty is up. My hr stopped working and tried every concievable thing they told me to try and still useless. Now its an expensive step counter. Going for garmin rather. Let the buyer beware!!

My next stop and watch is definitely Garmen. I have had so much problems with Fitbit and my screen went black a few days ago.... Nothing that I can do.... It was a waste of money.

I am just telling anyone that I see or know that is wanting to buy a fitness watch, to just stay clear of fitbit. Mine was 14months old and just stopped working. No one can help me to get it repaired. I am over fitbit and I am going to be buying myself a Garmin.

Similar experience. Hr monitor failed 1 month out of 1 year warranty. Based on all the comments and reviews it seems this is a built in redundancy. No option for repairs either. First and last time buying a fitbit product.

So did you pay the courier fee, send it to the Netherlands, and they sent you a replacement from the Netherlands? How long did that take?
