Replaced my band, but part of the metal connection broke off in my watch. Did i just brick it?

Title says it all - i was removing the old band and I guess it just ripped off since I didn't push in the metal piece enough?  Now when I try to attach a new band, that one hole is not catching and it's because the metal from the old band is stuck in there.  I'be been trying to remove it, it seems like the only way to fix it is to separate the watch so I can brush out the metal.  Otherwise, it looks like it's bricked??

Any help is greatly appreciated

Hi. @pjdonovan - I’m so sorry this happened!  Depending on the restrictions in your area, the best thing to do would be to take it to someone who does watch repairs and replaces watch bands. They would likely have the tools and experience to help.
