Resting heart rate skyrocketing

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Issue:

Since February 19, my Resting Heart Rate has skyrocketed. Generally hovers in the very low 70s, on Feb 19 it was 71. This morning it registered 82, and the highest I've ever had before is 80 (only hit 80 if I am traveling).

Tl;dr: 11 point RHR jump in 9 days.

Lifestyle:

No changes in sleeping, maybe slightly stressed at work but nothing out of the ordinary. Even at my most stressed I was at 77.

No changes in diet except less drinking (which increases my rate), and exercising the same amount/time of day as always (2-3 cardio a week + 2 weight days).

During the night, my heart rate is dropping to ~70 and hits that lowest point several times. During the day sitting at work my heart rate drops to the RHR level. Based on these, I don't understand why my RHR is 10 points higher.

I've reset it several times and it is fully charged.

Anyone know if they've changed their algorithm to calculate RHR? Is my Versa just broken? maybe a sensor is not calculating correctly?

Fitbit support was not helpful.

Don't know what is happening to you or your device. In my case there are a couple of times when my RHR rises that dramatically. One is in anticipation of a big event. When my wife and I are going on a big vacation I find my RHR starts rising about 1-2 weeks before we leave even though I personally don't feel the stress. The second is when I have an illness coming, mostly cold/flu. Again, my RHR starts rising a week or so before I start feeling any symptoms.

Maybe I'm about to get sick, it IS the season. I've only had my fitbit a year and only have gotten minor colds during that time period so don't have a ton of data on RHR linked to illness. Thanks for the insight.
