I am so disappointed, bought the Fitbit Versa from Walmart yesterday morning 4/20/2018, I have waited for this to be available since I read about it last year. I got it woohoo!, so excited driving home. Could not wait to open it. This is my 3rd Fitbit, I know how to set them up. I have the Fitbit Blaze, love all the functions, not so in love with the design, the screen is raised up so it scratches easily. I did find a better frame for it that protects the screen. It is quite big and bulky looking. My first Fitbit was the Charge HR, too small. The Fitbit Ionic was released did not seem that much different design than the Blaze, it did have a GPS but still kind of ugly. Was not inspired. Then latter part of last year I saw a ad for the Versa, I was instantly hooked. I wanted to buy it form a local retailer in case of problems. I run every day I like to track my steps, heart and sleep patterns.
Anyway back to the Fitbit Versa got it home and started the setup. Seemed to be doing ok until I got to the firmware update. Said it would take 30 to 45 min to install. Left it with my phone and on the charger. Came back about 1 hour later. Was still on the first part of the update, step 1 of 3. I tried all day with no success. Called versa customer support that evening. Went through the same steps that I did 4 times before. She said that it would be about 40 min to 1 hour. I left it for about 2 hours, no success. Tried to update again and again. No success. Woke up around 6 thought with a new day maybe I would have better luck. No luck. Called customer support again, went through the same steps. The outcome was the same firmware update failed. This afternoon I took it back to Walmart to get a refund. I am upset, disappointed, I waited for this watch all this time for nothing. I am not sure if your App, your programming or what is at fault. I will not even consider buying a Fitbit again unless I have a Fitbit expert on site to make sure the Fitbit is going to work. I want to walk away from the store with it working. I have seen reps from Fitbit in Walmart just not recently. I really love that watch,(looks) but I need to know that it is going to work. I got on your forums and read about the Fitbit versa and problems that other were having with the setup off their new product. Hope you can shed some light on my quandary. I want the versa, please advise me.

For what I understand you no longer have the Versa with you, I sincerely apologize for the inconveniences you've encountered while updating your watch. In case you decided to get another one, please check my post with suggestions and troubleshooting steps for setting up and update the Fitbit Versa.

Marco, thanks for your information. I will probably wait now until either my birthday in October or Christmas to get another Versa. I will of course keep checking this website and Amazon to see if all the problems have been resolved. I know there can be problems with new products. I will wait and see. I bought a new frame and band for my Blaze, kind of a consolation prize.
I did read through all of the steps to make the Versa work, I did try everyone of them on Saturday and Sunday. I kept on thinking the whole time how easy it had been to set up my Blaze, minutes compared to hours that I spent on the Versa. I am still interested in this product. Just want to sit back and see how the baby develops.
