Hi, I purchased a new Versa from Best Buy last week and I'd like to return it because it won't count flights of stairs. What do you recommend I do to reset it prior to taking it back to the store, to ensure all my personal info is wiped from it? Thanks in advance!

Hi @formermermaid

Did you try to restart the device to see if it will recognize those flights of stairs? Or check with customer support?

From the article online: (click to view)

Factory reset your Fitbit Charge 3, Fitbit Ionic, or Fitbit Versa to erase apps and all personal data from the device, including credit or debit cards you added (on devices that support Fitbit Pay). If you want to give your device to another person or wish to return it for a refund, first complete a factory reset:

On your device, open the Settings app > About > Factory Reset or Clear User Data.

You going to try another Versa? You've been using a Fitbit for quite a few years.

Hi @Odyssey13, thanks for the info. I hate to spend my limited free time fussing with a brand new item to get it to function properly, IMHO a $200 tracker should work perfectly right out of the box. I've been reading these boards and when I see all the problems people have with their Versas, such as spontaneous cracked screens, inability to sync, incorrect tracking, etc, etc, I doubt I'll replace the broken Versa with another one -- I may go back to my old Alta HR, it was working fine. I mostly upgraded because I wanted stairs info and wouldn't you  know, that's the function that doesn't work.   I guess my mistake was not reading the Versa help board *before* buying. Fortunately Best Buy has a 14-day return policy. Thanks again and have a good day.
