Ripoff after warranty

I've always loved Fitbit products and the customer service. However, I am now taking my business elsewhere.

I've owned the Versa for slightly over a year (when the warranty ends) and now I am screwed. As you would expect with a cell phone, now that the 1 year warranty is over, my watch immediately went from going 4-5 days without needing a charge to under 24 hours. Within the same week, the heart rate function stopped working. The offer to alleviate this faulty product after 1 year...25% off a new one. No thanks.

Tip to customers. It's actually pretty easy to get a replacement watch sent to you if it is still within the 1 year warranty. So, I suggest coming up with a random issue and getting a replacement right before the 1 year warranty ends so you can hopefully have 2 watches for the price of one. You'd have to do that every year though until you are bored of dealing with this nonsense.

Tips on other smartwatches that aren't Apple or Fitbit products welcome!

Hate to tell you but the warranty does not carry over to a replacement. The warranty will end when ever you bought your first one.

Bummer. Guess you can only follow the first half of the tip then 👍👍 I'll
be moving on.

Yes, please everyone don't try that second tip. As @WendyB pointed out, it won't work. Plus it's just not nice.

Agreed. Definitely would love to be able to provide nice tips. What would
really be nice is if Fitbit supported their own products after only 1 year.

Thanks for the post!  I have a 1 year and 1 month useless device - your idea is perfect for at least one more device.    Wish I had thought of it 2 months ago!   "Nice" is a company that cares about customer service and satisfaction.
