I know the new Fitbit Versa does not come with GPS. I am a runner, but I typically don't bring my phone with me. I don't really care about GPS, but I would like my distance to be accurate. I have had issues with Garmin where I have completed my run and the used MapMyRun to compare and they have been VERY off. If i brought my phone with me a few times, could I "train" the watch to learn my stride? In general, have you found Fitbit to be accurate with converting steps > miles?

@powerska23 Welcome to the Fitbit Community. Hope you'll soon be joining us as part of the Versa family
With all our trackers/watches that offer GPS or Connected GPS, your runs will be most accurate if you use this feature. For best results, after you have taken a few runs using GPS this data will be used to automatically determine your running stride length. So in a sense, the watch will learn your stride, but you could also adjust it manually if you feel the need to. To learn more about how your daily activity is calculated take a look in that article and here for accuracy.
Hope this helps!

The average persons stride will change a little from day to day and is affected by how they feel and what is bothering them. I did 5 walks on 5 consecutive days to come up an average stride. While I can't say that every walks record is spot on I can now say that the distance is close enough.
If I had set my stride based on one day. I probably would have pickedpa day I was feeling good, the result would be that the average walk would have been over estimated.

if I run with my versa without my phone, will I still see the distance I covered and the pace?
