Samsung buds not working with Versa 2

I have just purchased a Versa 2 and one of the reasons for the choice was to be able to download music to it & listen while doing my workout without my phone. 

After several attempts I managed to connect my Samsung buds but I amenable to play music. I have download music tracks and can see them on the phone but when I press play nothing happens.

Looking at the forums I see this a regular problem and no solution has be found over several years. Can anyone recommend buds that actually WILL work with my Versa 2? So frustrating. Thanks
