Screen black-won’t turn on

I’ve charged it, held down the power button, everything. My versa 2 absolutely will not turn on. It hasn’t touched water, been dropped, or even roughly handled in the time I’ve had it. Any ideas? I’m about to the point of doing a factory reset.

Charge it again and while its on the charger see if its syncing.

Also have a look at the suggestion posted here it might help isolate the problem which could be a faulty clock face and the watch actually is on.

If so try another clock face.

I’m having the same issue, and the problem occurred at about the same time as you.  That’s making me wonder if there’s some kind of software glitch with versa 2?

Same here! I went to bed and it was 80% charged, then almost no battery when I put it on in the morning. Left it on the charger for a few hours, then reset it and it seems to be fine now.

Now I'm also wondering if there is a glitch! I seem to be having the same problem as well.

At a loss as to how to fix it!

Would you mind explaining how to reset it? Thanks in advance!

Its a fault with the Fitbit App. Not the watch.

The only thing is to turn off Bluetooth on the phone when you aren't using it. Annoying until Fitbit fix the error.

Thanks you for your reply. I only turn my Bluetooth on in the evening to sync. Not sure how else to stop the battery draining as I only use it to look at the time while at work. Frustrating.

Is it the latest update? I haven't updated in awhile? Do you perhaps know which version is faulty?

I am having the same exact issue. As per the app my device is fully charged but have a black face. Pushing the power button and nothing.

Issues are:

sudden high battery drain - fault with Fitbit App or clock face

black screen - clock face problem, crashing software in the watch, caused by either clock face or Fitbit App.

Avoid factory reset unless last resort in case it kills the watch.

Best options are to make sure it syncs, it must say a moment ago, then battery charge level in the App is accurate, try changing clock face in the Fitbit App.

If you have a screen go to settings and do a shutdown of the watch and then charge it to start it or push the button.

Otherwise hold the button for 8 seconds till it restarts.

Have a look at the suggestion posted here - it may help you locate the issue.

In all probability its not a watch fault but an induced error.

Seems like this is a common issue.

Probably best to inform Fitbit Support directly. They may be able to help you.

Thank you, it worked
It turned on and it show 1% battery life, but the app shows 100% / full
charge.
I had it charging two days ago, and it notified on the display as 100%
fully charged.
But I'll just charge it again.

Thank you for this resolution with my FitBit problem

Update: I did an online chat with Fitbit’s support team and went through all of their suggestions to fixing it step by step and it’s still not turning on. My phone won’t sync to it, no lights, vibrations, anything. They’ve sent me a label to return it and we will go from there. I’m hoping the next one doesn’t have this glitch!

I have a Versa Lite and I’m having similar issues, blank screen but everything appears to be working, but I have to look at the app for information. It was working fine first thing this morning but then about 8.30-9am,(UK) I noticed the screen was blank. I tried the reset but it didn’t make any difference. Given that other people appear to be having similar problems, I wonder if it’s a Fitbit issue rather than our individual watches?

App working fine but the watch is blank, how can that be an app problem?

@Diane29It is possible the App is overloading the watch, hence the problems with the excessive battery usage. May be the clock face does not get time to display or something like that.

Giving the timing and number of users with the same problem it is highly likely a fault in the App.

Try turning off all Bluetooth transmissions and restart the watch and see if that helps.
