Screen not lighting up

Just got my Versa today, I love it! One problem though. For some reason my screen will randomly not want to turn on. I will click the button and it vibrates 2 times but still stays black. I can't figure out what is going on. Help?

A warm welcome to the Community @AllisonPaine.

Thanks for troubleshooting this by yourself. Does your Versa turn on at the moment of charging it? In the meantime, please confirm you followed these steps in order to restart your watch:

  1. Press and hold the back (left) and bottom buttons until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. This should take less than 10 seconds.
  2. Let go of the buttons.

Hope to hear from you soon. Woman Happy

Yes it turns on when charging and also most of the time while wearing it. Its almost as if the screen locks its self once in awhile. I will press the button and all it will do is vibrate 2 times. after waiting about 5 minutes it doesnt do it anymore and works perfectly

Please help! I am having trouble with my Fitbit versa. The screen is black. The only reason I know the watch is tracking and the battery level is because I've downloaded the Fitbit app.

I received a replacement for my broken Fitbit, it worked for a few weeks and not I'm having the same issue as before. The watch is on but the screen does not come on. Is there a glitch in this model that consumers need to be aware of?

I am trying to contact someone at Fitbit about my replacement watch not working. This is the third time I am reaching out. Can someone direct me to a number or person that can help me please.

Same thing happened to my watch. It's on and syncing, but face is blacked out. Only had it a year. Really bummed. Was there ever a solution for this malfunction?

@Lingle95 welcome to our Fitbit Community! By the way, I'm sorry for the late response. However, since your Versa's screen won't turn on, I would like you to restart your Versa as described in this help article. This will refresh your watch internally.

After restarting your Versa, charge your Versa for 2-3 hours. Then change the clock face to one developed by Fitbit and see if the screen turns on.

Keep me posted on the outcome! Smiley Happy

My Fitbit versa screen is black. It still tracks and calculates and vibrates but I can not see the screen at all.

@Kpanasew, I'm sorry for the late response. However, let me welcome you to our Fitbit Community.

Since your Fitbit Versa screen won't turn on either, I'd like to know if it vibrates when you put it on the charger.

In the meantime, try the troubleshooting steps that are listed in this help article. After this, charge your watch for 2-3 hours. Finally, try changing the clock face to one developed by Fitbit, not a third party clock face and see if your Versa comes back to life.

Keep me posted.

My screen stopped lighting up today. It’s fully charged because I can see that in the app and I feel it buzzing, but screen is dark. Did you figure out how to remedy this problem?

I'm experiencing the same thing. It vibrated once when I put it on the charger, but now doesn't seem to be charging and won't register on thr charger. I can't reset it either. It was working perfectly fine last night.

Hi Juan,

I actually tried that help article as well, and didn't see a difference. This morning, I plugged it in for kicks, and it didn't vibrate signaling it was registering with the charger. I still left it on for about an hour, and it went off for my 8am alarm. The screen still wasn't lighting up, but registered me turning off the alarm on the face. I took it off the charger, and the back lights that usually rest on your wrist aren't on either (much like yesterday as well). I'll put it back on the charger, but look forward to what else you have to help me (if she's salvageable). Thanks!
