Screen wake not working correctly / option to add auto dim option and always on clock face

I have a few issues with the screen

1. Turning the wrist does not always wake it, i usually resort to pressing a button. Is there a way to adjust the sensitivity?

2. Touching the screen does not always wake it. I usually have to press a button

3. Notifications do not wake it. As the above dont work i have to press the button - can this be a setting to wake please...

4. The clock face cant stay on all the time, it would be great to add an option to auto dim it and remain on. I know other ffaces are available but they suck, this bring me to my next point

5. Its really hard to find a clock face that is always on without installing it - this should be more visible in the app store (sorry i know not technically related to screen)

Not sure about others, but I have adapted to mine over time. It still is a poorly-implemented feature (ie, the auto-wake). I love the watch overall, so put up with this flaw in design and/or intent.

I have to make a rather dramatic move of my wrist to wake the watch up to see the time. Part of the reason I went with a Versa vs an Apple Watch was specifically because I did *not* want to draw attention to my watch. Unfortunately, anyone seeing me check the time, would think I was trying to not-so-subtly say, "Hey, look at my fancy watch." Totally not the intent. (And its outright impossible to surreptitiously check the time, such as in a meeting, or a long-running conversation, or such - I either have to do the dramatic wrist twist, or try to reach down and 'casually' press the button (there's nothing remotely surreptitious about tapping the watch...).

The rest of the watch is about perfect for me. The auto-wake feature kinda sucks.

Could it have been disabled? If you press and hold the left button for a couple of seconds you go to the quick settings where you can turn "screen wake" to auto or manual ( you may need to swipe left / right to see that setting)

I still have the issue, I'v tried everything everyone said and also contacted support (who well less helpful than everyone here). I've just resided to the fact that I need to press the button if the screen doesn't automatically come on.

I looked at developing an app myself to fix it too, while the development API seems OK there is really a lack of a good app ecosystem i.e. you can't make paid apps, you can't easily search for apps in a store. I can't see many developers that would want to build apps the way it is right now - so our only hope is the fitbit team...

You can search for "always on" and it only shows you this with that option.

Same problem. I have gotten in the habit of triple tapping with my knuckle (like knocking on a door) to wake the thing up .It's super annoying. Come to think of it I don't know why I don't just press the button--that would be easier. You'd think they would have a wake sensitivity setting you would adjust however you want but I suspect they know know battery life is a common benchmark to compare smart watches, not being able to tell the freaking time without magic gestures, so they don't want to do anything that will trade off battery life.

to be honest the lack of support from fitbit on this is frustrating, it's pretty fundamental. Hopefully they look at it soon

Check that the “Quick View” setting is on within the FB app > settings (top-right on the main page) > Versa.

I do have the same issue and it is very annoying. Every setting in on and everything should work but even by taping the screen couple of times, my Versa doesn’t wake up. Really frustrating

Was flicking my wrist all day, risking a repetitive motion injury, just trying to get display to turn on without having to resort to two-handed method. (When walking the dog, too much effort to tap on watch with other hand just to glance at time or step count) The reply from Retired44 to turn on Quick View in Versa Account did the trick for me. Duh... Instant gratification!! Thank you!

I just did what you describe. Turns out that I already (unknowingly) had it set at Auto. That can explain why it's been working nicely for me since I turned on Quick View earlier. Thank you for your input.

Checked mine and it was already on. However, I turned it off, then later turned it back on, and it seems to be working much better on the wrist flicks. Time will tell...

Hello,
On your watch, long press the left button until you see "Screen Wake." Set
it to "Auto."
On your Fitbit phone app, in the Versa settings turn on "Quick View."
Please let me know it that works for you.

Thanks. It was already set like that. Now works most of the time.
Occasionally, I need to hit the button, but it's reasonable.
