Setting the screen wake option to Auto works as expected (a bit too senstive though), but setting it to manual doesn't seem to work. The screen still turns on when I move my wrist.

I have mine set to manual (ie it shouldn't wake until I press a button or something like that) but the watch face is way too sensitive, I find - especially at night, when the lightest touch seems to wake it .And then it wakes me because I've suddenly got a bright light glaring at me from a few inches away. I would really love the sensitivity of the watch face dialled down some, or even an option to wake only on a button-press.

I am going to suggest a "do not disturb" mode that's similar to what we have on our phones. Please vote for it!

I have the opposite problem, my screen wake has stopped working?

Same problem for me. I think the super sensitivity is partially responsible for incorrect sleep stats. The device is accidentally turned on by a moment when you are sleeping, then it thinks you have woken up, and there you go. I am having better results by turning off the quick view at night and using the layers clock face.
But, especially for the price point of this thing, I do not want to do manual adjustments every night. Never had this problem with my alta or charge.

I agree with the other posts. I just bought my fitbit versa, but it is waking me up in the middle of the night when it comes on. I have it in manual mode, but if I bump my wrist on my pillow or blanket, it lights up. I want a SLEEP MODE that disables the light from coming on at all while I'm sleeping. I may be taking the fitbit versa back to Target if this is not resolved! I bought is mainly to track my sleep patterns so taking it off at night is not the option I want to hear.

If you follow davgu3 instructions you will be a lot happier and your battery will last longer xx

Hello there everyone thanks a lot for your feedback and sharing your experiences with the Fitbit Versa and the screen sensitivity.
Is true that Versa is more sensitive that other trackers and the screen is more easy to turn on now. This is not an issue, meaning is not produce by a glitch in the firmware's Versa watch.
I can understand this may be bothersome during the night, so one workaround is to set the screen wake option to "Manual". The screen with this option won't turn On unless you press the home button or tap the center of the screen as it was mentioned by @Mollybea.
I found a suggestion that at the date of this post, is labeled under consideration and might be of your interest. Please visit this idea and vote to support this option to be implemented in a possible future: Turn off quick view when I'm sleeping (or at customizable times) aka 'Night Mode'
Catch you later and stay tuned for future updates.

The problem is the "Manual" setting does not work as it should. The watch turns on if you tap the watch band or the side of the watch or any motion that causes a vibration on the watch. If it only turned on by pressing the home button or tapping the screen we would all be happy. Unfortunately that is not the case.

For a while, my Versa's screen turned on with a single light touch, not with a double tap as it's supposed to. It was way more sensitive. It stopped doing that, and it's acting normally now.
So, there's a bug.

Here's what you do, RobertoFitbit. Do you even wear a Versa? If you do, set the screen wake to manual. Put on the Versa. Tap it gently on the buckle side of the band on a hard surface. The Screen will wake up. THAT IS what we are complaining about. Any anyway, why was the Versa designed to be more sensitive in the first place>\?

@RobertoME, I think you missed the bit where I and others have said we already have our Versas set to manual. Even a slight brush of bedclothes against the watch face can be enough to wake it. It doesn't take a double-tap or a firm tap sometimes. And I swear sometimes at night I've had my watchface wake when it hasn't been touched by anything.

So I have the screen wake turned on manual and the quick view turned off. Screen still comes on while I'm at work. I'm talking about it comes on every minute. I have a labor job in my arms are constantly moving. how do I stop this because it's draining my battery quickly

After making sure the Manual Screen Wake setting is still set and the watch is fully charged, do a Restart and do it several times if necessary.

The issue here is that when the HR sensor loses contact (or finds it), it turns on the screen. Yes, Fitbit should fix this.

Well that’s interesting. I knew the screen was extra sensitive but didn’t know why. I do kn ow that if you have the screen wake set to manual and gently bang the buckle side of the device on a hard surface, it will display.
