Today I got myself a new Fitbit, the Inspire HR.
I already own a Versa, Charge 2 and Flex 2 and the Versa is currently the only one that is connected to my account.
I added the Inspire, which was a succes but now the Versa has been removed from my account.
When trying to set up the Versa again, I am told that there is already an Inspire connected (duh) and asked if I want to switch to the Versa. So when I would proceed, the Inspire will be replaced by the Versa.
How come? I used to have multiple trackers connected to my account and now that's not possible anymore? That sucks big time... therefor I would like to know how to connect more than one Fitbit to the same existing account.

Unfortunately, with the introduction of recent fitbits the restrictions on connecting multiple trackers to an account have increased. Fitbit say:
"Note that you can't have Fitbit Charge 3, Fitbit Ionic, Fitbit Inspire series, and Fitbit Versa series connected to the same account. If you have any combination of these devices, be sure to have only one connected to your account at a time."

I appreciate this is a pain - I have a versa and inspire HR too.

Thanks Steve!
We can only hope for Fitbit to make it possible again... I still find it a bit odd... you would think Fitbit would want us to use as many different trackers as possible 😉

This is beyond terrible. I’ve owned fitbits for many years. My latest setup was an Ionic and a flex2. The Ionic was my daily wearer and when I felt like wearing a nice watch on my left hand, I’d put the ionic away and wear the flex2 on my right hand. I just picked up the Inspire HR to replace my flex2 Well..... you guessed it. I can only have one connected at a time. Terrible terrible drag!!! Anyone know if they’ll ever allow 2 “smart” units at once???

@SteveH Hi Again - so could you confirm that I have this right - I can have a charge 2 and a charge 3 associated with my account because only the charge 3 is linked to the Fitbit app store/gallery - but - I wouldn't be able to have a charge 3 and a versa as they both use Fitbit app store/gallery (ie for weather app or Fitbit pay etc)

Hi @ashwolve I notice that the help file in the link was recently updated and I don't remember there being a reference to the gallery as a cause in the old file. However, whatever the cause I think you are correct: charge 2 plus charge 3 ok, charge 3 and versa not ok.
I did have some strange results when this issue first arose where there were other combinations that had issues but that was a while back and I've not seen any sign lately of other combinations other than those listed in the help file being an issue.
It's a pain as I have an ionic and versa and only make use of the versa.

@SteveH Thanks that makes it a bit clearer as I was considering getting another device but with the current issues I may put it off until they are rectified either way I now have a little more information

Hi SteveH, I just got my Fitbit Inspire HR, and also have an Ionic. I did not know I cannot have both in the same account !!!¡¡¡... If I decide to use both, should I remove one and add the other Fitbit when I change one for the other? Any recommendation? I just bought the Inspire HR, since the ionic is uncomfortable when I sleep, and I need to monitor my sleep due to specific condition.

If you try to add the one not currently being used then it will ask if you want to replace the other one so there's no need to remove it first.
It is important to do a sync before swapping otherwise you'll lose any unsynced data on the one above to be replaced.
You may find that the fitbits need to be reconfigured with any changes to the settings, clockface etc when you swap. If this is the case you may well decide that it's just not worth it.
