Setting up Versa once it's been locked. Device also deleted on App!

Have a Versa, which this morning was locked and now is asking me to Unlock with my phone. Have tried to unlock with my phone with no success. I made the mistake of deleting the versa from the App and can no longer unlock because the versa was deleted. I have tried to set the device up again but wants the display number and because the versa has been locked does not display the number. I contacted support with no luck. Have tried everything, factory reset, uninstalling App and rebooting phone, still nothing. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello @Amit99 is your Versa still connected to your Fitbit account? If so then simply change the lock code through the Fitbit app.

If the Versa has been removed from your account, then please follow the posted solution. It should work but the steps need to be followed carefully.

If your unable to get the steps to work then please reach out to Fitbit

Hello @wb21 i assume that your Versa has been removed from your Fitbit account. If it has then the hardware factory reset procedure will be needed.

This is not simply done by holding in the three buttons.

If the multiple steps posted in the link i provided above doesn't work. Note: it may take several tries because timing of the steps are critical, but if you having problems please see the last sentence in my post above and contact Fitbit

Now if the tracker is still connected to your Fitbit account, all we have to do is to change the pin which takes less than 30 seconds.

The pin lock should be set for wallet only which will prevent this issue from happening.

The step that will fail is when you have to put the pin code in once fitbit had found your devices. But it will come up with unlock with device. Hopefully helpful

@Em_Dancer07 is your Versa still connected to your account? To unlock the tracker with the Fitbit app the Versa has to be connected to your Fitbit account and show as connected in the app.

Normally the user would open the app, go to settings, Versa, device lock and change the pin lock. Note that you will need to enter your phone unlock code.

Did they ever email you back? I have the same exact problem and I'm about to just throw this watch away. I called customer care and they are clueless... I'm starting to regret buying this watch.

@HEIDY57 is your tracker still connected to your fit it account, ie: shows up in the Fitbit app?

If so then we simply need to setup a new pin for the versa.

This is explained in the FAQ

Now if the watch was removed from the account, doesn't matter what the issue is, removing a tracker usually makes things worse. We will need to do a factory reset.

I have like other's have stated and I know you have criticized removed the tracker from the app and unpaired it from my phone because like other's have stated I read to do so on a forum, so I've done exactly what you have said in previous comments it doesn't work. I believe it is because my app in the access part says my phone is logged into my watch, and that's probably where there is a miscommunication between the watch and the app, I have not revoked the access. Is there anywhere you can physically take the watch and someone actually trained can fix the problem?

You may want to contact Fitbit. Once it gets unlocked, please set the pin for wallet only. This will prevent future issues.

The hardware factory reset may be performed by anyone. The phone and or the app on the phone has nothing to do with this procedure and can not affect the ability to do it.

You might want to take the tracker to a friend.

I have done it in the past, it is a little tricky since timing is important.

Here are the instructions again

On the watch, hold all three buttons for about twelve seconds. This triggers the 2-button hardware reboot after about eight seconds.
- When the Fitbit logo appears, then disappears, release the bottom right button, then continue holding the left and top right buttons until you feel a strong vibration. This indicates the factory reset was initiated.
- This process may take several seconds, and eventually, the Fitbit logo appears and the device boots and displays go to Fitbit.com/setup.
- If you fail to release the bottom right button in time, or otherwise don't follow the procedure precisely, the Fitbit logo reappears quickly and boots without factory reset.

If The unit is still connected, then simply change the pin number.

If the tracker has been removed from your account, please follow the instructions in the marked best answer above .

tks.  i did see your posts before and tried several times before giving up and calling support. it just wouldn't reset.  Gave it one more try after I wrote my comment and I was actually able to factory reset my device.  it probably took about 30 tries total.

FITBIT SUPPORT - was not helpful whatsoever.  he told me that a factory reset wouldn't fix the problem and that I needed to buy a new one.

@hc22 That's what I meant by "finding optimal times". I had a user who was trying for 10 hours to reset it and only on the nth try, it actually did.

Thank you so much I have spent so much time trying to get my phone unlocked.  Tried every response I could find.  This one actually worked.  Although I am not sure if it is because I signed up for premium  account prior to trying this.
