Setting up Versa once it's been locked. Device also deleted on App!

Have a Versa, which this morning was locked and now is asking me to Unlock with my phone. Have tried to unlock with my phone with no success. I made the mistake of deleting the versa from the App and can no longer unlock because the versa was deleted. I have tried to set the device up again but wants the display number and because the versa has been locked does not display the number. I contacted support with no luck. Have tried everything, factory reset, uninstalling App and rebooting phone, still nothing. Any help would be appreciated.

Could you please share the details what you did?

I am struggling alot. Customer support put hands up.

If your device is not available in Fitbit app/account, then how come the premium account subscription helps to pair the watch?

The premium doesn't help pair the watch.

Pairing of the watch to the phone is controlled by the fitbit app, after the tracker has been setup and attached to your fitbit account.

If the watch is still connected to your fitbit account, it takes less then 30 seconds to reset the pin code.

I assume you have a Versa not versa 2 or lite

As for the factory reset, the timing of the pressing of the buttons are critical.

On the watch, hold all three buttons for about twelve seconds. This will trigger the 2-button hardware restart after about eight seconds.

- When the Fitbit logo appears, then disappears, release the bottom right button, whilst continuing to hold the left and top right buttons until you feel a strong vibration. This indicates the factory reset was initiated.

- This process may take several seconds, and eventually, the Fitbit logo appears and the device boots and displays go to Fitbit.com/setup.

- If you fail to release the bottom right button in time or otherwise don't follow the procedure precisely, the Fitbit logo reappears quickly and boots without factory reset.

These instructions are a bit off. I got off support now and they gave me this which worked immediately:

  • Hold all three buttons for about 10 to 12 seconds.
When the Fitbit logo disappears, quickly release the bottom right button, continuing to hold down the left and top right buttons (releasing the bottom right button as soon as the logo disappears is time-sensitive).
When the device vibrates, release all buttons.
Wait for approximately 1-2 minutes while the device clears all data. Eventually, the Fitbit logo appears, and the device boots and displays Fitbit.com/setup.

Hello Jokinsoldier,

I tried these factory reset steps many a times. But after released the bottom right button, the reset is not happening I mean the vibration is not getting with other 2 bottoms holding. The support team confirmed that my watch does not have factory reset option. It's a defect. So they confirmed that can not be fixed and now the watch is about to throw in dustbin.

No.. my watch does not have factory reset option. So no use of it now . If
you have factory reset then you are lucky. I am still waiting for the
solution before throwing in dustbin.

I am facing the same issue.

had been using Fitbit Versa since 2016 till 2020, I changed my watch. So this one was lying at home. Now since around 6 months have been trying to link it to another phone and account but it doesn’t get paired since the prompt keeps reflecting - ‘Unlock with Your Phone’

what should I do, have tried everything already mentioned here

@Shruti_10 scroll up a few posts and follow the instructions. Or read the approved answer for instructions.

If the Versa was still connected to a fitbit account, simply set a new passcode, which is a 10 second procedure.

However, being removed, you now need to do a factory reset.
