Setting up fitbit versa 2 for 13yo that is on a supervised family link account

Hi, 

My child is 13. They are old enough to have a fitbit account. They have a versa 2. They are unable to sign in using Google as it says that their account is not supported and to check the settings. All of the third party settings are correct- we only supervise for bedtimes- how can we make this work please?
