My wife and I both made the jump from Charge 2 to Versa. Overall, I think we're both glad to have upgraded, but it's not a 100% endorsement. I'll give a quick pros and cons from my perspective.
Good:
- Battery life is incredible, and was one of the most important factors for me. I wasn't willing to buy a smartwatch I had to charge every day, but the advertised four days of battery life is pretty accurate. I can handle charging that frequently.
- The variety of watch faces available is excellent. There are a ton of free options, and I've really enjoyed trying new ones.
- For the most part, the interface is smooth and easy to navigate.
- The screen is bright and view-able outside during runs.
- The watch itself looks really great. Previous Fitbit attempts at a smartwatch have looked terrible, in my opinion. This one looks sleek and very much like an Apple Watch.
- Water proof! I still try to keep it dry, but it's nice to be able to wash the sweat off after a workout.
Bad:
- No official support for some major phones, including the Google Pixel 2.
- Sometimes struggles to connect during exercises (about 50% of the time for me).
- Some weird software decisions. For example, changing default exercise metrics shown on screen (like miles, HR, etc) does not stay as you've set it (reverts back to default values automatically) - that's apparently not a bug, but intended functionality!
- No way to filter paid versus free watch faces. You just have to click on each one and scroll to the bottom to see if it's free.
Overall, I would definitely recommend going from Charge 2 to Versa. It's a nice upgrade!
