Since last firmware update, GPS is sketchy and watch will not retain Lap setting

Since receiving firmware 32.71.6.19, my Versa has a difficult time connecting to GPS and once it does, it drops within 1/4 mi of biking.  Additionally, it will not retain the Lap setting of ever 5 miles.  It keeps the 5 mi setting for that ride, but sometime later before the next day it is resetting to the default 10 mi auto lap.  What is the cause and remediation?

Follow up - Auto lap setting reset within 10 min of me closing out of the Exercise on the watch.  When the watch is not connecting, if I open the app on the Android phone, I get a message saying that I need to register the watch with Fitbit to enable Connectivity...its been register and working fine for more than a year and shows as attached to the account both on the phone and website...
