Skin Temperature in Fahrenheit but I want it in Celsius

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I can't find any settings anywhere. When I click on my profile photo at the top left, then scroll down into settings and select App Settings > Units, Temperature is set to Celsius but when I go onto my Skin Temperature its showing results in Fahrenheit.

Are there any other settings hidden somewhere, which I can change?

Many thanks 🙂

@mcyates When you tap the skin temperature tile and get the skin temperature chart, look to the top right for the gear icon. Tap that to change the temperature from F to C.

Thanks for your reply, I can't find this on my Fitbit App.

This is my dashboard

If I click on the Health Metrics from my "Today" page, it brings up the below image. I have scrolled down and then took a screen shot.

I then click on Learn More and it bring up the below image, but I don't have any settings cog.

@mcyates  the is a separate temperature tile. tap on the Discover icon on the bottom and then look for Health and Fitness Stats tile. in there should be a temperature tile. As that to your dashboard.

@wtksk8r thanks again for the reply, i've looked on the discover part of the app and all I can see is:

  • Mindfullness
  • Wellness Report
  • Sleep
  • Exercise
  • Heart Rate
  • Hourly Steps
  • Menstrual Health
  • Weight
  • Water
  • Food

I can't see the temperature tile.

It's looking like I'm just going to have to live with it.

Here is the video of my Fitbit with no temperature tile anywhere.

If anyone has any suggestions how to find this tile. I'm sure I should have the ability to add my core temperature too.

Thanks in advance.

Hi @mcyates the separate temp tile app is only on the Sense and not on the Versa 3.  To change the units, tap on your profile photo in the app, select 'app settings' and then select 'units'.  From there you can change length, weight, temperature etc.

Thanks, but I've already done that and set it to celcius but it's still
showing in Fahrenheit.

It's okay, I'll just have to live with it being Fahrenheit 👍👍.

Thank you for your reply.

Just changed by length unit (In the Android App) from feet and miles to cm and kilometres and the skin temperature is now in Celcius.

If I change the length unit back to Feel and Miles, the skin Temperature goes back to Fahrenheit.

Surely this is an error?

How do I report bugs in the app?

Thank You

I can confirm the same with me, changing the length unit to metric changes the skin temperature to Celsius and changing it back to imperial it reverts to Fahrenheit.

This is the same for most US apps, for some reason they think that here in the UK we don't use Feet and Miles 🤣

Oddly I just changed back to Feet and Miles and it stayed on Celsius 🤔

I have just had this same issue. Tried to switch the length etc to metric but it didn’t work. Changed the temperature option to Fahrenheit and now it’s showing in Celsius. I think someone mislabelled the buttons in coding!

Confirm same for me with Sense. I use normal UK units - imperial length + metric mass. My personal preference would be even more of a mix - I prefer elevation in meters, but that's an aside.

So, despite the app unit being set to C and all figures throughout being correctly shown in C, the Fitbit premium "Health Metrics" tab incorrectly shows "Skin temperature" in F. Changing the length to metric changes it once you log out and back in. This is clearly very bad coding (presumably vestigial code between a global imperial and metric) resulting in a unnecessary bug.

2022 and this is still an issue. Charge 4

same issue with me and even though this was reported a year ago, unless i want to use KM instead of miles then i can't have C, only bloody f which means nothing to me.

found a workaround it it helps.

select km and then exit to confirm it's actually changed, then go back in and reselect celsius and then change it back to miles. then check

for me, i now have miles and temp in C - as the british gods decided it should be.

If you want the Skin temperature in Fahrenheit or Celsius and you are playing with App settings, there is a simpler solution.

Leave the App settings as you want them and click the "+" on the Skin temperature tile (as if to add a core temperature), you will find a gear icon which allows you to independently change the temperature units without adding a core temperature.

This changes the units of Skin temperature in the Fitbit App to the one you choose.

There isn't a + on the skin temperature tile

@Bemused999  - there should be, but just click the tile anyway and then the gear settings icon.

Ok - found out how to do this. Go to units. Change length/distance to metric. This changes the temperature display to Celsius. Then switch length/distance back to feet/ miles and temperature remains at Celsius. Whether -0.2 deg C is correct is a different matter. 🙂

Whoops! Spoke too soon! It's gone back to Farenheight. I think we're just going to have to accept that there's a bug in the software.
