Skull with Cross Bones

While wearing my Fitbit Versa like always, I felt it vibrate so I looked down and checked it. Then noticed a Skull with Cross Bones where the heart rate is normally located. It only lasted for a few moments then went away. I’ve googled it and am unable to find any information regarding this anywhere. Can anyone please provide any information regarding this or what may have caused it. Thank you in advance.

Hi @etraen. I’ve never heard of that. How disturbing! If it happens again, please take a picture with your phone and include it in a response to this post.

Great to see new faces @etraen, welcome and @SunsetRunner thanks for the input.

I haven't heard of something like this before, it's good to know that it only lasted a few seconds. As our friend recommended, if it happens again feel free to provide us with a picture.

Keep the stepping up! Man Happy

So this is currently happening on my fitbit, it sometimes comes and goes as I wake but this time it has been there for 2 days! It's a bit freaky. I've been trying to send a picture but it won't let me load it! 😔

I have one too! But also noticed I don't have a heart rate, I think it must be trying to tell me I'm dead!!! Or heartless as hubby keeps saying

Hi, all, I am guessing that this is something that the clock face developer programmed in to show when the heartrate is not detected.  No heartrate detected can happen for a number of reasons, and is usually brief (caused, for example, by the wrist flexing, or sweat on the wrist, wearing the watch too loose, etc.)

On Fitbit designed faces this is usually indicated by " -- " so I am guessing that you all are using a third-party watch face.  The "solution" would be to change your watch face if you find it creepy!

Hiya.

Thanks for your replies. I am still having the issue, it's been nearly 2 weeks now! I've re-started it, I've cleaned it and I'm the process of changing the face but I still don't have a heartbeat 😞  I'm not sure what to do now. Tx

Hi, @Tinki-tee , apologies!  I was only addressing the subject of the unusual icon -- I didn't realise you were having continuous problems with no heartrate.  Changing your watch face will not solve that...

So, some questions:

1. has your Versa ever showed your heartrate? And
2. are the lights flashing?
3. if not, is the heartrate setting set to "on"?  (you can find this setting on the watch by swiping left, choosing the settings menu, and scrolling down to Heartrate.  A tap on the watch face will toggle HR between off and on.  (If it is on, you might try switching it to off, wait a moment, and then turning it on again.

I think there was an issue recently of HR on some Versas not functioning correctly, and the advice was to restart your Versa.  This is always a good first step whenever your Fitbit is not working as exoected.  (To restart, swipe to the settings menu and scroll down to "about".  Under about you will find the option to shutdown.  Once it is shutdown, press and hold the left button to turn it back on again.)

If that still doesn't get your heartrate detected, and heartrate is turned to ON, and the lights are flashing, then you might want to have a look at this help article which has some advice about changing the position of the watch or the tightness of the band.

Good luck.  Please do let us know how it goes and whether you are able to resolve this issue.

Maybe change your clock face, if you don't have the default one. It could be a glitch in that. Good luck!Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone

Hiya Julia_G

I've have had my fitbit for a year, it has worked perfectly up until now. I've tried all the things you suggested and none have worked. I wear a fitbit strap, not too tight and not too loose and as of a couple of days ago, my step don't get counted either. It all gets recorded onto my phone app though, so something must be working. The light is flashing against my wrist and the est works. How very weird. I have clicked on the link you sent and have sent an email. Thanks for your help again. iIll let you know what they say. Tx

Hi, @Tinki-tee , does your heartrate get recorded on your app as well?

If so, it sounds like a fault with the clock face.  Have you tried changing that?
