Sleep tracking in Today view

I see in the Today view the sleep information is only updated after syncing versa with the fitbit app. The sleep data is actuallt fetched from versa to the app. So why not just display the sleep information in the Today view right away without having to sync?

I think the answer is that the watch tracks the raw data, but the app decides what is sleep and what is not and sorts out the times in the various sleep stages by analysing the raw data, so you have to sync for it to be analysed.
