My Versa tracks my sleep but it's inaccurate. I woke up this morning at 7am. My Versa reported I was awake at 5am & it stopped tracking my sleep. Other nights it starts my sleep long after I go to bed. I'm asleep after my head hits the pillow. My Blaze used to track sleep if I fell asleep in the recliner, recorded awake time when I moved to my bed & went back to tracking sleep until I woke in the morning. Are there known issues with the Versa's sleep tracking that are being corrected by Fitbit? I made the wrong assumption accuracy (heart rate, steps, sleep) would not be an issue with the Versa since the Blaze works so well.

I feel like I'm at my wit's end! I've searched online and tried:
- Manually syncing through the app
- restarting my fitbit several times in a row
- changing watch faces
- adjusting the band tighter around my wrist (non-dominant)
- toggling quick view on/off
None of which have helped. I usually sleep anywhere from 6-9 hours/night but nothing has been tracked over the past week (and the hours tracked before that were very spotty). Any advice?
Some background: I was switching time zones quite a bit over this period (east coast USA to west coast USA to France) so I thought maybe that might've been messing with the sleep logs at first, but I don't think that's the case as I've been home for the past week.

Running into this same issue of not accounting for sleep correctly. I used to have an older fitbit, without heart monitoring, and it worked perfectly. I would expect a fancier more expensive watch would at least perform comparably.

A warm welcome to the Community @tgn08.
Thanks for troubleshooting this by yourself. Could you please provide me with some screenshots of your sleep information? In the meantime, you can check the help article What should I know about sleep stages?. Also, remember that if your sleep data isn't correct, you can edit it.
Hope to hear from you soon.

Thank you @AlejandraFitbit!!
This morning I manually added my hours slept. Otherwise my fitbit either tracks my sleep inaccurately or not at all 😞 let me know what else I can provide!

Lakedibi - Swimming was also why I bought the Versa. I haven't used it in the pool yet, but seriously doubt that it will log that correctly, considering that it can't figure out when I'm moving at all.
Here are all of the things wrong with the Versa:
1. Doesn't track sleep properly. (This is the understatement of the year - claiming that it tracks sleep is a complete misrepresentation).
2. Doesn't count stairs properly.
3. Doesn't always (50%) show me the watch face when I tap it twice
4. Takes an inordinate amount of time to do a manual sync.
Things I like about the Versa:
1. Waterproof - I don't have to take it off to shower.
2. Great variety of after-market watch bands.
I still have my Fitbit One, and I'll use that instead. It doesn't monitor my heart rate, and it's not water resistant, but it's far superior in the things that it does do than the Versa. Shame on Fitbit..

Just bought Versa 3 days ago and all 3 nights of sleep tracking are inaccurate. Went to bed at around 11pm but fitbit is showing 12:26am, 3:06am, and 3:27am.

Well fans..... my daughter has a Fitbit Ionic and I as you know have the Versa. Yesterday we exchanged the Fitbits. She just let me know the it tracked her sleep like her Ionic. On the other hand her Ionic did not track any of my sleep.. I have concluded that all of the great people out there that the sleep tracking just does not work for us. Our body chemistry is so special from the other group that it has worked for. Since it is to late to return it I’m just going to keep it and use the other great tracking features that it has until maybe Fitbit cares enough to look into this problem..

Boo-hoo... only one of us merited a response from Fitbit in this thread! I emailed their customer support too, but I never got any response. Checked my spam folder, etc., it's been 2 weeks and no reply from them.
I've since changed the clock to Layers and now it seemed to be better at tracking my sleep. But not that accurate still since it missed a few hours of sleep for several days this week. I hope they fix this so I can enjoy other clock faces! Sigh.

Because of very unreliable and inaccurate heart rate and sleep tracking with my Charge 2, I paid the extra for a Versa, thinking that it must be better. But I was very wrong. The Versa is even worse than the less expensive Charge 2. Complete waste of money for what turned out to be an accurate step counter but nothing more. And the extra price for the woven strap is also a complete waste.
This is my third and last FitBit device. I'm done with FitBit.

AlejandraFitbit,
Manually editing my sleep log achieves nothing. I bought my expensive FitBit device to track my sleep, but it does not.

Anyone on twitter should tweet Best Buy support if you purchased yours there. They are berybreaponsive and have tweeted them with the concerns about one of their vendors being so very unresponsive.

One thing to try is to set the sleep ranges in settings outside of your sleep times. I noticed that if I set sleep to start at 10, but I sleep at 9:30, it will not realize that I went to sleep until sometime in the middle of the night !!

This is my second week with my Versa. I LOVE this tracker, but I too am having problems with the sweet tracking that I never previously had with my Charge 2. It seemed to start off OK with the tracking, but the last few days has been very erratic. As you can see from the attached pic, it only track me sleeping 3+ hours last night, and it should’ve been around 6 1/2. In fact, you can see that it didn’t track any sleep at all the two previous nights! This seems to be a serious issue and they need to find a fix!

Sorry my friend that you think that Verna sleep tracking failures are user errors. I have repeatedly tried every suggestion I have read on the Fitbit app, and tried all suggestions from others. My Fitbit Surge that I had for years worked perfectly about 98% of the time. Your Verna does not track sleep correctly!! Sorry!

I am having this problem now too. I don't have the option to change sleep sensitivity...This is under advanced settings
