Sleep tracking inaccurate with Versa

My Versa tracks my sleep but it's inaccurate.  I woke up this morning at 7am.  My Versa reported I was awake at 5am & it stopped tracking my sleep.  Other nights it starts my sleep long after I go to bed.  I'm asleep after my head hits the pillow.  My Blaze used to track sleep if I fell asleep in the recliner, recorded awake time when I moved to my bed & went back to tracking sleep until I woke in the morning.  Are there known issues with the Versa's sleep tracking that are being corrected by Fitbit?  I made the wrong assumption accuracy (heart rate, steps, sleep) would not be an issue with the Versa since the Blaze works so well.

I’ve had my versa for 3 months and it has tracked my sleep correctly exactly 3 times the other nights either it did not track or it was woefully incorrect.  The worst part is that there are so many with the same problem and we don’t hear a peep from Fitbit.  It’s as if we are all just imagining the problems.

Just a guess - is your age, sex, weight and height profile correct. This
might have an impact. Let me know if that helps

I'll try it and see what happens. I have nothing to lose. My sleep
tracking has been a complete disaster with my Versa.

As I have mentioned before, with my Fitbit Surge wristband that I had for
at least 2 years, the sleep tracking was excellent, but with the Versa,
they really screwed something up.

Yes, I've tried that as well. Many others throughout the post thread have
also tried.

I'm confused by the recent thread posts as all of these suggestions have been tried and proven to NOT work.  Re-installing appears to only work the first night or two, and then it starts to fail reporting accurately again.  Height, Sex, Weight do not impact results.

The bottom line from my perspective would be that the sleep tracking for Versa is not tracking your movement correctly.

As reported\discussed in many other threads about the fitbit devices BEFORE versa was that it simply reviewed your movement pattern (or lack there of), combined with your heart rate (to determine if you were in light (normal heart rate), REM (highter than normal heart rate), or Deep (lower than normal heart-rate).

The Versa (for me) most times does not identify when I go to sleep properly, it is always 1 or 2 hrs later than when I went to sleep.  If I wake up to go to the bathroom, that marks the end of my sleep with the Versa, whereas with the two prior ones would show as an AWAKE time, but would then continue to track my sleep from thereon to the morning.

FITBIT needs to review there program logic in the Versa for this and if they corrected it, it would go along way to solving the issue.

Sure, sometimes the VERSA does not record my heart-rate properly when I am sleeping, and it looks like the original sleep pattern on those fitbits that don't have the heart-monitor capabilities.  However, this issue is rare and most times the heart-rate pattern is accurate with Light, Deep and REM showing, but of course just the wrong period of sleep time is recorded (accurate as far as I can tell).

That was exactly my experience as well.  Luckily, I was still within the return window, and return it I did.  I will consider rebuying in the future if they ever get this issue permanently corrected.

need a few nights to see if it works. So far nights 1,2 & 4 seemed OK.
Need to see if I can go more than 2 nights in a row

Hi Everyone!

Since doing a Factory Reset on the Versa the Sleep Tracking has been accurate about 50/50 - it ssems to 'stall' if I get up in the middle of the night, then it starts up again at some random time after I've been back to sleep for ages.  Having said that it can even stop tracking sometimes when I sleep right through - so it's still a mystery.

I wonder why the Factory Reset caused it to become accurate for a couple of days AFTER the reset but then degenerate?

Positively, although I've not driven it hard the heartrate monitoring seems fine,  I have loaded up my tunes and it works well, I get my notifications without any problems and on a big plus for me, I was pleased to see that when I went swimming a couple of times last week it automatically recognised the exercise and logged it accurately.

If only Fitbiit could solve the Sleep Tracking .......

Last night my sleep recorded properly. Let’s see if it’s consistent.  I am dubious.  In the past I have randomly gotten about 1 night per week correct.

Same problem,  pretty frustrating! I actually had one night where it actually logged two segments of sleep because I got up to go to the bathroom.  I was so excited thinking it was fixed, but not so since then. Only logging 3-4 hrs, when I'm pretty sure I'm getting at least 8.

I've worn my versa faithfully every single night.
According to it, I haven't slept at all since June 30th.
