My Versa tracks my sleep but it's inaccurate. I woke up this morning at 7am. My Versa reported I was awake at 5am & it stopped tracking my sleep. Other nights it starts my sleep long after I go to bed. I'm asleep after my head hits the pillow. My Blaze used to track sleep if I fell asleep in the recliner, recorded awake time when I moved to my bed & went back to tracking sleep until I woke in the morning. Are there known issues with the Versa's sleep tracking that are being corrected by Fitbit? I made the wrong assumption accuracy (heart rate, steps, sleep) would not be an issue with the Versa since the Blaze works so well.

Thanks for the suggestions but none of these address the fact that the Blaze worked fine and the Versa doesn't. I wear it the same way. Maybe you guys need to look at the code? Maybe the motion sensor is defective. I also notice it counts stairs less as well. Could that be related? Work on that update please.

Sleep tracker is way off. O went to bed at 820 pm and it never started tracking. Until 1230a1230am when I got up to the bathroom

Im experiencing the same issue, wnt to sleep at 2am and it says I slept at 5:30am for 3 hrs. Dissapointing, if I had found this thread I wouldnt have purchased the Versa

Really tired of the suggestions to make it work as if it is a user issue. I have tried everything suggested y fitbitsupoport for the last 2 months and it does not work. My Charge HR tracked my sleep incredibly well, the Versa does not sense at all. I think you have a hardware or software issue that you know you can't fix.

We need retailers to start leaning on them to get their attention. If we start to complain to purchasing department of retailers maybe something will get done. 3 months I’ve been waiting for a solution and all we get is lip service and nothing more. They have a large liability on their hands with this defective product a d don’t want to face the music.

It will be a big disappointment and a huge problem if this is a hardware issue. I just don't understand how they have previous products work so reliably but yet this one isn't. Surely they can learn from their previous products. . . just keep what works and add new features without messing up previous features. Or. . . get better testers. Because clearly this wasn't well tested.

Im going to wait for a month and if its not fixed I'm returning it. Sucks having it only record 2 to 3 hrs sleep per night. This needs to be communicated outside this forum to raise awareness of the issue.

Like many on these posts I am not affiliated with Fitbit and I like the Versa for most of the features but very frustrated with the sleep tracking.
Good point on "pit stops" in the middle of the night but I tracked that too - if I get up let say around 3:00 AM it will show an awake blip but still does not show start time accurately - usually shows start about 2 hours after I actually go to sleep - I know exactly when I go to bed and my wife tells I'm sawing logs within minutes - maybe Versa doesn't like snoring ?.

Seems 2 hours is very common as mine is consistently off by 2 hours (sleep start)

More days then not, I have had to adjust my sleep times, usually the stop time, to get reasonably accurate sleep stats. The are detailed, at least. The device was working better a couple of weeks ago.

I know a few Fitbit moderators have acknowledged that they are working on a fix, however won’t commit to a time frame, which is frustrating for people who have been dealing with this since it was released and have been accused multiple times of “user error”.
I think its time time to start leaving public reviews on things like Google, Best Buy, places that sell the watch. Maybe then they’ll take it seriously if it gets public attention outside of this forum. I’ve left comments on the Fitbit Facebook page but again it isn’t taken seriously and just flushed off.

That’s the way to get attention. Time to start a grassroots movement.

You're the only person I've seen in this large thread for whom profile settings actually corrected the issue -- you got lucky. Most of us have tried every possible variation of a fix without long-term success. (Mine went back for a refund since I was within the return window, thank goodness.)
Plain and simple, a $200 product should perform as designed and marketed, especially considering that getting up during the night is a common thing for most people, and the fact that other Fitbit products can handle that occurrence correctly.

I have not tried any of the fixes recommended. I love my Versa for tracking my steps, exercise, and everything else that it does. I love the design and the ability to change bands. I used to have a ChargeHR, but never wore it to bed because I found it uncomfortable, so can't speak to whether or not the sleep tracking worked well on it. I do wear the Versa to bed because it's so lightweight that I hardly notice it. I have also found that the sleep tracking starts about 2 hours after I go to bed. Sometimes I get two sets of readings for the night, for example 1am to 3am and then 5am to 8am. I just go in and delete one, and then adjust the other to the real time I went to bed, and then all of the stats are there. No idea how accurate the stats are though. I'm sure they would differ from a real sleep lab. Bottom line: for me, it's cool to look at the sleep graph, but I don't think it's an essential function of the Fitbit. If you're having real trouble with sleep, I think it would be better to seek professional advice. I'm not affiliated with Fitbit in any way.
